Whale watching from Scotland’s West Coast?

Am visiting Glasgow early May and would like to do a whale watching trip with my 10 y/o daughter. I found 2 companies organising them but 1 is WAY up north (Gairloch) and the other is too far from any kind of public transport (Argyl).
Does anyone have ideas on trips that would leave from areas that are accessible by public transport? I checked the web for Gourock/Greenock but couldn’t find anything. Thanks.
